Pink & Messy Buns.. (3/5)

dress: Asos   sunnies: Miu Miu   clutch: GiGi New York   shoes: Tom Ford (old)

This was one of my favorite looks of the entire trip. I loved the comfiness of this dress since I had a sunburn from the day prior…(I thought I forgot to pack sunscreen so we toasted a whole day on the sun unprotected. The following morning I found my sunscreen in a hidden compartment in my suitcase….whooops!)
Unfortunately everything in this post is pretty old, but other than the shoes I have found all the items for you. I originally bought this dress in the summer of last year but never reached for it for some reason, so this time it was first in my suitcase (and lucky you – its now on-sale).
Now lets move on to accessories shall we?! These sunnies by Miu Miu are my most favorite from my sunglass collection. They are definitely a splurge, but they suit my face like no other and I love the fit and feel of them. Basically if I could own only one pair, these would be it hands down.
The bright clutch was a perfect touch for this color combo (Im a sucker for anything with tassels).
Ive been really loving to wear colors lately, but this is probably because I am yearning for spring – bad.
I hope this colorful post inspires you this Monday, thanks for stoping by!

Pineapple Adventures – Lookbook 2/5

top: Anthropologie   shorts: One Teaspoon   sandals: Sam Edelman   bag: Louis Vuitton  sunnies: Miu Miu

This look is very simple, but looks like this are my favorite for exploring the resort and staying comfortable. From the moment I saw this top I fell in love with how light and loose it feels. The shorts I’ve had since last year, but the one teaspoon bandits are highly popular and can still be found everywhere (note: they run larger, so size one size down).

p.s. This post is a bit different from the others, but this post is just more real life and was taken in the moment :0)

Caribbean Lookbook 1/5

hat: Saks 5th ave. sunnies: Dolce & Gabbana top: Zara; similar here pants: Zara  bag: Louis Vuitton
sandals: Aquazurra

As you will soon see this Caribbean vacation was all about color for me. For the next 5 days I will be posting 5 of my favorite outfits from our holiday. These outfits were worn either day/night and may inspire anyone traveling to a warmer climate in the near future or if you live in Australia (where its currently summer – you lucky butt).
I love nautical looks and this was my version of nautical, minus the blue. On days when the sun kissed me a bit too much and I needed to cover my skin a bit I tried to wear loose tops and cool sleek pants. I love the bold color of these pants paired with a loose neutral top, comfy sandals, and a panama hat. Can you tell I love red? :0)

Paris is always a good idea..

I wanted to share a bit about our Paris trip we took last summer for our third wedding anniversary.  First and foremost, it was literally a dream to visit France. Ever since I was a little girl I dreamt of seeing the Eiffel Tower and stroll through the streets of Paris munching on macarons and baguettes. To my surprise that is exactly what we did. Everyday we would explore the city by foot and purposely get lost to find hidden treasures.

Here are some places to see: Eiffel Tower (of course!), Champs-Elysees (the main shopping attraction, while your there check out the Arc de Triomphe), Notre Dame (and then walk to the love bridge to place a love lock, if they will still let you!), The Louvre (this museum requires a day of its own), Pont Alexandre III (the beautiful famous white and gold bridge – you will see it in my gallery), Palace of Versailles (this requires a day trip because the palace is so large, and the grounds surrounding are breathtaking).

Places to eat: When it comes to food, Paris is filled with little restaurants and cafes on every corner. Here are a few that we went to and loved: Laduree (my favorite brunch spot – do yourself a favor and try the eggs benedict!), eat at the Eiffel tower (..if you can make reservations 3-6 months in advance – we didn’t unfortunately), L’Avenue (great place for lunch if you are shopping in the area), and if you want a fine dining experience with a view reserve: Ciel de Paris – you wont regret it, I promise! 🙂

Where we stayed: We were looking for a hotel that was modern, near the Eiffel Tower, and potentially had a view. We stayed at the Pullman Eiffel Tower and this hotel exceeded my expectations. We came to Paris not knowing what to expect, but the rooms were a great size, the style was clean and modern, and the balcony view was unbeatable. I’m excited to say that this hotel is also very affordable. Overall I would give this hotel 4.5/5 stars, and we will definitely be staying there again.

New: All about Paris

For those that are interested in a post about Paris, visit my Travel page located on top of the menu bar. There you will find information about all of the places we have visited/will visit, where to stay, what to do, where to eat, and my ratings. This week its all about Paris.

Tommarrow, look for a Caribbean lookbook on the Personal Style page, and this weekend look for a resort review on the Travel page.

Pear & Buckwheat Loaf

I love buckwheat and buckwheat loves me back. Buckwheat contains a great amount of fiber, protein and even a bit of calcium. Buckwheat may help to slow the absorption rate of glucose into the blood, which can leave you feeling full longer, and prevent a sugar spike.

One of my favorite buckwheat recipes is this   Buckwheat Pear Loaf

This recipe is quick, easy to make, and the chocolate drizzle over each slice is the perfect touch.

Ingredients:

·      2-3 small pears

·      260g buckwheat flour

·      2 eggs

·      1/3-cup coconut/grapeseed oil (I used melted coconut oil, and using this amount makes the  loaf more dry, for a moist version double the amount).

·      120ml water

·      100g coconut sugar

·      ½ tsp. baking powder

·      1 tsp. vanilla

·      Unsweetened shredded coconut (optional garnish)

Chocolate sauce:

·      1 cup coco powder (unsweetened)

·      ½ cup honey

·      ¼ cup melted coconut oil

·      2 tbsp. unsweetened coconut milk

Directions:
Preheat oven to 340F.
Using a mixer beat the eggs until pale. Add all ingredients (except the pears) one at a time until well combined. The batter will be sticky, but feel free to add more water if needed.

Wash the pears and place them in a fully lined loaf pan. Pour the batter over the pears until covered. Sprinkle coconut if desired.

Bake for 50-65 minutes (I do the toothpick test, and take out when the toothpick comes out clean). Remove from oven, and let cool 10 minutes before cutting.

Chocolate Sauce:
Place the honey, coconut oil, and coconut milk in a saucepan on medium heat. Mix until well combined. Remove from heat and whisk in coco powder little by little until silky smooth.

*Tip: make sure your coco powder does not contain any lumps, this will make it easier to whisk into a silky sauce.

Drizzle as much chocolate sauce as you want over each slice and enjoy 🙂

I would love to see you try this recipe! If you make it and post a picture use the hashtag #eatcleanwithvictoria or tag @allthingsvictoria so that I can see all of your beautiful buckwheat loafs! 🙂

Red Pop..

hat: Lord&Taylor (on-sale!) similar here   coat: Shopbop; similar here   sweater: Banana Republic   skirt: jCrew   boots: Stuart Weitzman   bag: Chanel   mittens: Bloomingdales (on-sale!)   sunnies: anthropologie – old; similar here

Currently I am far, far away from the freezing snow but I thought it would be a great time to share this winter look we shot right before we took off on holiday.
The winter months are long, freezing and very grey in New York. While winter can be dreary, it is actually one of my favorite seasons to dress for because of the many layers and endless possibilities.
Now, lets take a minute to talk about this amazing coat! I had a few people ask me on instagram a few weeks back about this coat, and I think its time I share. This coat can be found on shopbop.com and the good news is that most coats are currently on-sale. I am completely and overly in-love with this coat, its color and quality.
Moving on to accessories; I love to add a splash of color in one-two items to give it a bold pop. Red is probably one of my favorite colors to wear for a bold statement, so I try to take advantage when I can. I love this hat solely due to the color, the big furry pom-pom and oh yeah, its pretty warm too 🙂 !

New Year Elegance

gown: Marchesa   leaf crown: Zara; similar here

First and foremost I would like to wish you all a wonderful New Year filled with blessings and happiness.

After many questions about this amazing dress I wore on New Years Eve (posted on my instagram) I decided it would be a great first fashion post (because fashion and dresses are awesome)!! This dress designed by Marchesa was literally a dream to walk in! From the moment I saw it I knew it would fit me like a glove, and the best part was that I caught it on a super-sale, oh how I love a good sale! In my hair a leaf crown from Zara complimented this dress wonderfully, along with soft waves and strawberry lips.
