I feel like my pregnancy flew by like a breeze, and here I am embracing the new
world, my new world of motherhood.
I always thought 9 months was a long time until I got pregnant. Although the
beginning few months were a little tough, months 5-8 were so, so good to me; I
didn’t even feel
pregnant! The last few weeks of the last trimester were the most different and
I felt the most had changed.
Im sharing some details of the last trimester below:
I didn’t gave trouble sleeping and that is mainly due to my pregnancy body pillow. It is absolutely one of my must haves during pregnancy!
Cravings:
After the 5th month I didn’t experienced any food aversions or cravings. But in the last 2-3 weeks of my pregnancy I noticed some strange cravings for random things. My worst cravings was french fries & chicken nuggets from….you guessed it McDonalds and confetti cake with that sugary frosting. Both of these things I would never eat in a million years prior to pregnancy! LOL… And I only indulged in both of these cravings once, and tried to keep my snacks fairly healthy.
Body Changes/Weight Gain:
Of course your body changes during pregnancy! I felt like my body looked a lot softer and fuller in all the areas. My belly has been growing pretty consistently and luckily I didn’t get any stretch marks. My total pregnancy weight gain was 34 pounds and that didn’t phase me. Once I had Baby Esmae I immediately lost about 24-25 pounds within the first two days.
Symptoms:
At this point in the game, my entire pelvic region was extremely sore, especially in the mornings. You have to sleep on your side which causes you to stack your hips one on top of another, this makes getting out of bed a lot more challenging because your ligaments are loosening/stretching/super sore. Some mornings were better than others, but the sore/painful feeling only lasts about 1-2 minutes.
Another symptom is swelling of the feet and ankles. I was told this is common during summer pregnancies and I tried to take it easy while sipping on lemon water pretty much all day.
Belly Button in or out?
OUT, and my hubby found it extremely adorable!
Names:
We had a boys name and middle name picked out the moment we knew we were expecting, and we had two girl names we love equally and couldn’t decide even while we sere still in the hospital. Deep down we knew what suited her and us most, and we just went with our gut instinct and named her Esmae Harper (pronounced: Ezz-May).
Nursery Progression:
Our nursery is about 99% complete! Crib, changing table, closet, clothing, diapers…everything is all set and ready to go! I’m still waiting for the rocking chair to arrive, and I will adding pink velvet curtains over the great big window in her nursery.
The baby has been sleeping in a bassinet in our bedroom, then after about 2-4 months we will transition into the baby room.
Best part of Pregnancy:
Feeling the baby move and kick is beyond precious!!!!! And I miss it terribly!
Worst part of pregnancy:
The harsh symptoms including morning sickness, swelling, and pre-labor pains/pelvic joint pain/soreness.
Exercise:
Does getting up from the couch or bed count? Towards the end I tried to stay active but that did not include exercise, I mainly just tried to do my daily activities without stopping or slowing down too much.
What I missed:
Sleeping on my belly!!!! And all my high waisted jeans/shorts/skirts! …Ok….. pretty much my wardrobe!! Feels so good to be able to fit into some of my skinny jeans already and sleep on my belly again!
Hopes/Wishes/Most excited about:
Seeing my baby’s face for the first time was unreal!!! And a healthy baby with a good milk supply for at least a year or so!
If you have any questions feel free to leave them in the comments below and
I will respond to each and every single one!xo,
